ipod June 2014 001I had a hard day recently and as a result tears were forming in my eyes and running down my cheeks. As my heart was crying out to God a song randomly came on to my iPod. The song was entitled El Me Conoce which means He knows me. (I have Spanish songs on my iPod because I’m trying to learn Spanish…. 🙂 )

The words to the song go on to say “He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call.” I really needed to hear that right then, and I was so grateful that God provided those encouraging words!

Yes, God does see our tears. He even collects and records them! Psalm 56:8 says: “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”  I don’t know why He takes special note of our tears…perhaps someday He will replace each one with a special hug or measure of joy.

God also hears us when we cry out to Him. “The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help…..” (Psalm 34:17-18)

I was so encouraged that God knew where I was emotionally and He responded with a song. (Isn’t it amazing that God can use an iPod to reach us?) If you need to be encouraged that God knows your name, knows your troubles, sees your tears and hears your cry, then take a moment to listen to either the English or Spanish version of this song. He loves you and He does care for you!

Maui 2014 011My Child~

That beautiful sunset you just watched…..I made that for you!

The flower you marveled at…..I made that for you too!

The fish you saw under the ocean…..yes, I made that for you to enjoy!

Did you know that My thoughts of you outnumber all the grains of sand on the earth? They do! I love you that much! So, relax My Child and enjoy what I have made. Take time to slow down, smell the flowers, watch the sunsets and remember Me and My love for you!

“How precious to me are your thoughts, God!  How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand–when I am awake, I am still with you.” Psalm 139:17-18

“But ask the wild animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you. Or speak to the earth and let it teach you. Let the fish of the sea make it known to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all men.”  Job 12:7-10

Sunrise Whispers From the Father

Sunrise
Whispers From the Father

The Lord your God is with you.
He is mighty enough to save you.
He will take great delight in you.
The quietness of His love will calm you down.
He will sing with joy because of you.
                                            Zephaniah 3:17

My Child~

Can you take a moment and just let Me love you? I really want you to feel and experience My love.  That means you will need to slow down. You will need to quiet yourself. You will need to get rid of all distractions. And you will need to sit with Me.

Sit long enough to let Me hold you.

Just be quiet and let Me surround you with My love.

Can you feel it? Can you feel My love? Do you know that I take great delight in you? Yes, in you!

I love you My Child and I take great delight in you. I sing because of you!

Now linger with Me for just a little while longer. I want to love you some more. I want to calm you down with My love.

Please stay as long as you like. I’m in no hurry and I really like it when you are with Me.

When you must leave, know that I go with you. Look for Me in the white aspen trees against the deep blue sky, in the smile of a friend, in the love of others, and in the beauty of a sunrise or sunset.

I am always loving you My Child. Always.

And when you want to feel that love even more, come to Me. I am waiting and I am longing to share My love with you.

He Leads Me Beside Quiet Waters Whispers From The Father

He Leads Me Beside Quiet Waters
Whispers From The Father

Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my anxious thoughts. And see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. (Psalm 139: 23-24)

The start of a new year seems like a good time for me to take a look inside and examine my heart. Am I doing what is good and right? Am I doing what God would want me to do? Or not? Those questions won’t let me go until I look…..until I think about what is in my heart and what motivates me.

God already knows what is in my heart. (Psalm 139:1-4)  So why does the writer of Psalm 139 want God to search our hearts with us? I think it is because God is gentler than we would be on ourselves….but He won’t allow us to overlook what needs attention. We tend to beat ourselves up over our mistakes; or we overlook what we don’t want to see. God is gentle and humble and wants to ease our burdens, lead us, refresh us, help us live righteous lives, and give us rest. (Matthew 11:28-30)   (Psalm 23:1-3).

I realize I don’t need to struggle with what is in my heart. God already knows my heart and my motives. If there are hurtful ways in me, He will gently bring them to my attention and help me deal with them. He will help me become the best version of myself that I can be while He leads me to restful places and gently restores my soul.

It is to this kind of God that I will surrender my heart and allow Him to examine it with me….for I know He loves me.  (At the Cross–Hillsong)

Believe 2 December 2013 002It seems what we all want for the New Year is for things to be better. Better health, better job, better weather, better garden, better behaved kids, better behaved pets, better behaved spouse, better behaved self…..you name it, we want it to be better.

And it seems, that what keeps us going, is the faith, the hope, and the belief that things can get better.

This past Christmas Day was hard for me for various reasons. I was discouraged so I decided to take a walk. On that walk I passed a store that was open. I don’t normally go into stores (I dislike shopping) and it just seemed weird to go into a store on Christmas Day, but there was a friendly, beckoning air to this particular store so I went in.

The store seemed full of love and good cheer. A woman (who turned out to be the store owner) came over to see if I needed any assistance. As we began to talk, she sensed that I needed encouragement. She promptly encouraged me, prayed with me, hugged me and gave me the Believe ornament you see here.

Yes, the New Year will be better. How can we possibly have a bad year (or even a bad day) when God is right there for us? He sees our tears, our pain and our struggles. And when we are hurting He sends someone along to help us. In my case he sent Anita, who will forever be my Christmas Angel.

God is there for you too. He wants to love you and help you. He wants to encourage you, support you and guide you. He wants to be with you for every moment of 2014; and every moment in every year thereafter. Believe it; it’s true. (Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 28:18-20, Isaiah 30:18)

With love and hugs,

Tina

O Come Let Us Adore Him Whispers From the Father

O Come Let Us Adore Him
Whispers From the Father

While singing the words “O Come Let Us Adore Him” these bible verses came to mind:

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

I love it that our God invites us to come to Him. Not so we can adore Him. That will come later. He wants us to come to Him so He can love us and restore our broken lives.  (Luke 15:11-32) He wants us just as we are. Messy. Confused. Broken. Overburdened. Harried. Worried. Proud. Selfish. Ashamed. Not having our lives even close to together.

And in spite of all our mistakes, He loves us. When we realize that….when we truly realize that He loved us enough to wrap Himself in human flesh and enter our world….and He now invites us to come to Him so He can love us, restore us, and give us eternal life……when that sinks in to our being, we will adore Him.

Listen carefully. I hear him whispering “Come.” Do you hear it too? Let us go to Him for He is waiting with His arms open wide.

While on a family vacation this summer, our son Matt was the DJ in our car, playing songs from his iPod for our enjoyment. One song became my favorite:  Live Like That  by the Sidewalk Prophets.  (Click on the words to listen to the song…it is well worth your time!)

This devotion came from that song.

My Child~

How are you living your life?

Do you help others and show love when everyone else walks away? (Luke 10:25-37)

Are you taking time to help the least fortunate of My Children? Those without food, clothes, water, or shelter? The lonely? The unwed mother? The drug addict? Those who are sick? Those in prison?  (Matthew 25:31-40)

Do you take time to sit with Me, feel My love, learn from Me and worship Me? (Luke 10:38-42)

When people see you do they see Me? (John 14:9-11)

Do you long for the world to know My love? (Ephesians 3:17-19)

Do you love Me and others with everything you have? (Mark 12:30-31)

Does everything that you say and do point to Me?  (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Are you living your life to the full with excitement and enthusiasm? (John 10:10)

Are you living like that My Child? I hope so! I want you to!

Others need to know Me and My love and they are looking to you for answers. If you Live Like That, you will be pointing them to Me, which is good, for I am the answer to all their questions.

As you go out into the world, remember that you are My ambassador and I am always with you! (2 Corinthians 5:20Psalm 46:7)

While pondering what God thinks of our blunders, I heard the song En La Cruz. The words of the song spoke to me. “Senor conoces mi corazon. Aun cuando te fallo, se que me amas.”   (Lord, you know my heart. Even when I fail you, I know you love me.) Here is the English version of the song.  I hope you enjoy listening to the song and reading the devotion.

My Child~

I see what’s in your heart and I know all about you. (Psalm 139:1) I know that your intentions were good and you tried to do what was right, but it didn’t quite turn out the best. I understand and I love you even when you mess up.  Please don’t dwell on those mistakes. I know you were caught off-guard by the circumstances. Come to Me and let Me help you learn from the situation so you can move forward.  Lean into Me the next time you find yourself in an awkward place and I will hold you close and  guide you. (Psalm 139:7-10)

I already paid for your mistakes.  I “tore the veil.”  (Matthew 27:45-54) I made a way and now nothing can separate you from My love. Nothing. (Romans 8:38-39)  Even when your intentions are not the best, and you deliberately choose to walk away from My ways, I am seeking after you. (Luke 15)

Let’s move forward and leave the blunders behind. And while we are at it, let’s leave other’s blunders behind too.  (Proverbs 17:9)

God’s Heart

My Child~

Do you know what tugs at My heart?  You do! You are always on My heart! I am always thinking about you! (Psalm 139:17-18) I love you when you go to church and I love you when you mess up and make mistakes. I love you when you help others and I love you when you are selfish. (I don’t like the selfish part but I still love YOU.)

The hurting and the vulnerable tug at My heart the most:

The Lord is my Good Shepherd

You need to know that I am your Shepherd and I am able to lead you to restful places and restore your troubled soul. I am always with you and I will always comfort you. I will fill your cup to overflowing and will surround you with goodness and lovingkindness. You need not fear any bad thing when you are with Me. (Psalm 23)

My Child,  I am Love. Let My Love surround you and abide in you.  Let My Love totally saturate your being. (1 John 4:16) Know deep down in your soul that                I LOVE YOU!
